You’ve heard about Chicago’s famous pizza, but what about our award winning hamburgers? Check these places out for the best beef in a bun…
If you haven’t heard of it, Kuma’s Corner is probably the most famous burger joint in Chicago. Naming their infamous burgers based on heavy metal bands like the Pantera and Plague Bringer, may not be that appetizing, but we assure you that these monstrous burgers are extremely tasty. Beware of giant lines especially on weekends.
A lesser known place, but comparably delicious is Lockdown Bar. Our Assisstant Manager, Jason Shultz personally recommends The Border Patrol, a massive burger topped with jalapenos, avocado, and carnitas (fried pork). He also suggests you substitute the fries for their excellent mac-n-cheese. This place is located across the street from The Empty Bottle, which hosts nightly live music.
If you find yourself up north in Chicago and you need a meal, check out Moody’s Pub. The dimly lit joint is cozy and serves up some great burgers and fries and they’ve been doing it since 1959. If I had to pick one place that makes a basic cheeseburger into a mouth-watering meal, this is the place. Follow the link above to print a coupon.
Feeling creative? Design your own monster burger at The Counter. With cheeses such as Tillamook Cheddar as well as Danish Blue Cheese, and toppings not limited to hard-boiled eggs and spicy pepperoncinis- there are a ton of customizable options. In addition, this place is right by the hostel at Clark & Diversey.
If you’re in the market for a quick bite, check out 5 Guys located on Clark and Fullerton. This place is President Obama approved, and provides superior and affordable fast food. Seriously though, why are french fries always better when served out of a soft drink cup?
