Microbreweries are spreading across the United States at a significant rate. Chicago is known for its wonderful variety of craft beer. Its always fun to pick out a flashy craft beer at a local store to try, but there are also a good number of brewery tours in Chicago to expand your knowledge and introduce you to the rising trend of housemade hops. Take a look at these recommended tours, breweries, and bars…
The Chicago Beer Experience
Take a well organized tour covering a diverse array of bars with the Chicago Beer Experience. The tours go through our neighborhood of Lincoln Park as well as Lakeview and other popular areas where craft beers and breweries have become a favorable norm. The selection of beer is on point, the knowledge of Chicago beer making is vast and one establishment even pairs bacon with your beer. Also, the tour has garnered a lot of favorable reviews from beer enthusiasts. The Chicago Beer Experience is packed with knowledge, spirits, and even food, making the $60 ticket worthwhile.
Half Acre Brewery Tours
With the main stipulation of making sure you are early, Half Acre Brewery provides beer tours every Saturday at 11:00am. The informative and fun tour is a mere $10 and includes a cool Half Acre pint glass and three glasses of their trademark brews- straight from the tap. This is a great deal and a highly recommended Brewery tour in Chicago. We recommend you try their Daisy Cutter, Gossamer, and Pony Pilsner. Once again, get there early because they take the first 60 people and the lines have been known to stretch far down the street at 4257 N Lincoln Ave.
Revolution Brewery Tour
Makers of iconic cans and some of the best craft beers in the city, Revolution Brewing also offers tours. Their brewery tours are complimentary, and are on a first come/first serve basis so the ongoing theme of getting there early is in full effect. The best part of Revolution is their massive tap room that reflects an open warehouse space with tables, a bar, shuffle board table, and couch area to hang out. Go for their delicious IPA Anti-Hero or their tasty Eugene Porter and land a free tour at 3340 N Kedzie Ave.
The Chicago Brew Bus
With brewery staples like Goose Island and Haymarket Brewery on the list, the Chicago Brew Bus takes you on a tour that covers around 15 different craft beers at 3 different breweries. Tickets are $60 which covers the ride, the knowledge, the beer, the snacks and a belly full of microbrew. Also, the tour sells a 64 oz growler that can be filled with sweet hops of your choosing at one of the three breweries, what can possibly beat a beer filled souvenir?
