Chicago Beaches: Enjoy Them Today!
Let’s cool off. We love Chicago summers but sometimes the sun gets a little too fierce. Here are some spots to enjoy the lakefront…

North Ave. Beach
North Ave. Beach is loaded with fun stuff. You can rent volleyball equipment, bikes, and kayaks. One may also be interested in using their beach house for showers, or checking out their chess pavilion. The lake naturally curves here, giving you a beautiful view of the shore. We recommend visiting Castaways for some lakeside food and beverages.

Oak Street Beach
Oak Street Beach is a great spot because it’s so close to the downtown area. This beach is not only the most popular city beach, but it has the largest space available for sunbathers. This is a truly majestic beach that even features palm trees in the summertime.

Fullerton Beach
This beach is the closest to our hostel. It may not have the amenities the other beaches offer, but this is a nice relaxing spot with an awesome view of the Chicago skyline.

Ohio Street Beach
This beach is also located in the Downtown area, conveniently next to Navy Pier. It is a small beach peacefully nestled in a busy area. This is further enhanced by the tree-line that separates it from the traffic. This beach is less crowded than the others.
