Chicago’s Bike The Drive 2010

Some good things only happen once a year, and its time to experience this year’s Bike The Drive.    This event let’s you & a bicycle take over historic Lake Shore Drive as you bike the famous lakefront road without a car in sight.   So on May 30th, grab a bike, a helmet, and get ready for a memorable ride.

If you have not yet experienced the aesthetics of Chicago’s lakefront, what better way to capture the scenery than a remarkable ride on the Drive?  The registration fee is $45 in advance & $55 the day of, but you also get a cool t-shirt as well as admission to the post ride festival.  They have a huge pancake buffet for $7 that provides a hearty meal after a morning of sight-seeing and exercise.

If you would like to participate in this event but do not have a bicycle, you may rent one right here at the hostel.  We rent comfortable bikes great for cruising the lakefront- $15 for 3 hours, $25 for the day.  This is an event that allows you to capture the essence of our beautiful city, don’t miss out!
