Exploring Oak Park

Fans of architecture should rejoice, Oak Park is a neighborhood that blossoms with distinctive aesthetic structures, mainly because Frank Lloyd Wright left a sizeable mark on this Chicago neighborhood.  Between 1889 & 1913 he designed 25 houses in the area.  Many of them are nominated as National Historic Landmarks.  Here is a compiled list of tours available for discovering the architecture of one of America’s most renowned architects.

 

Not only has Wright left a mark, but Oak Park was home to one of America’s most celebrated authors, Ernest Hemingway.  We advise you to take advantage of a tour or event happening at this historic house through The Ernest Hemingway Foundation of Oak Park.

Located 9 miles west of Chicago’s downtown area, Oak Park is a vibrant neighborhood that should be explored.  Not only boasting terrific architecture, but also features The Oak Park Conservatory, a beautiful place to take a stroll. Oak Park also has a nice downtown area, click on this helpful map. So pack your walking shoes, and don’t miss out.
