“I honestly can’t say anything negative about Chicago Getaway Hostel! The dorms and public areas were kept extremely clean. The hostel is located in a lovely neighborhood and all attractions are easily accessible via the L. The staff were so helpful and friendly. I attended the pub crawl, the NYE party and the blues night. All nights were so fun and a great way to meet other people. I was impressed that the hostel made such an effort for their guests to socialize. I would definitely stay again!” Hostelworld Dec 2011

“A great place to stay in Chicago – I’ve stayed at both main hostels in Chicago and this one is better. The atmosphere is really friendly, staff are great. My husband lost his passport during our time there and the staff kept asking us how we were going and if we were ok. Free breakfast is a great deal, love the bagels with blueberry and cream cheese. They also have free musical instruments like a grand piano and guitars, pretty awesome.” Hostelbookers Dec 2011

“What a wonderful hostel. Probably the best I’ve stayed in. I loved the moderness of it too. The manager and all the staff were very helpful. This placed exceeded all my expectations. Safe area too. Near Lincoln Park zoo & Park and close to the bus. The subway however is a short walk but that’s not issue. Lots of restaurants and close to the grocery store. “Staff were really warm, helpful and friendly. Hostel common area is very spacious and a great place to chill and get to know people. Bathroom is clean and even has a hairdryer for the ladies. “I stayed there for my 9 days trip, and it was great! There is a breakfast buffet, and the staff is always welcoming. The kitchen is well equiped and the whole place is EXTRA clean! “To Whom It May Concern: I am writing to you in order to thank you for your fantastic service. I went there the last weekend of October with three friends. We stayed in a quadruple room. The staff was really friendly and polite. We asked them for information about the city, the night life area…and they gave to us really detailed and useful information. They also dressed up for Halloween which gave the hostel a live and young atmosphere. The breakfast service was also great; it had great variety. I also appreciated the modern interior decoration. The contemporary environment provided inspiration while still achieving a comfortable, home-like atmosphere. The common rooms in particular gave us the opportunity to meet other people and further the familial presence. When I first thought of a hostel, a dirty, run down place came to mind. But the service and overall quality of the hostel has changed my mind. I am really willing to recommend your hostel everywhere.
