Summer Festivals in Chicago
Wow. It’s already July, but the good news is that we still have a ton of cool events for you. From food to live bands and airplanes, check these out:
Mmmfood, let’s celebrate summer by eating and drinking outside. Luckily, we have The Windy City Ribfest as well as the new Roscoe Village Burger Fest to check out. These events are free to attend, include live music, and some great barbecue. The Ribfest is going on from the 16th-18th of July, but the Burger Fest is from the 10th-11th.
The Wicker Park Street Festival is a real hip event that blends indy music, tasty food from local eateries, and arts and craft vendors. The 2010 lineup includes the well-known rock band Local H. If you are in July 31st or Aug. 1st, check it out.
Another awesome annual fest is The Northalsted Market Days. Do not let its timid name fool you, this is a lively extravaganza featuring a ton of bands, food, and people. It is in its 29th year, and seems to be growing bigger and better every time.
The Chicago Air and Water Show is a famous and visually-captivating event that occurs Aug. 14th and 15th at beatiful North Ave Beach. The admission is absolutely free and the beach is a nice walk from our hostel.
