Bleeding Heart Bakery: 1955 W Belmont Ave. Boasted as local, sustainable, & punk rock, this pastry palace excels in fantastic organic baked goods that will leave a memorable mark on your pallet. “The cake balls & whoopie pies are to die for…”

Our neighborhood Austrian Bakery 2523 N. Clark St. isn’t all about the sweets (but they do make most excellent desserts like their poppy seed cakes, Nutella cookies, & chocolate cakes).  Their wholesome breakfasts & lunches are a delightful force to be reckoned with, as they prove to have ideal warm options for Chicago’s winter.

If you find yourself in Wicker Park, stop into Alliance Bakery 1736 W Division St, grab a cup of coffee or delve into their diverse pastry selection (some of the best brownies you can possibly find).  This place is worth the trip alone for their radiant window display of uniquely beautiful cakes.

Another one of our neighborhood gems, Molly’s Cupcakes 2536 N. Clark St. graces the cupcake industry with its presence, putting itself  as a front-runner as a must stop on our sweet treat list.  31 different flavors adds a tremendous selection (cookie monster, red velvet, chocolate mousse etc) & their interior is arranged by both tables as well as their signature swingsets.

Dinkel’s Bakery 3329 N. Lincoln Ave. established in 1922, and now a landmark among bakeries, has been serving us with traditionally great old-fashioned goods; whether it’s their infamous doughnuts or their award-winning chocolate cakes, they are also serving highly recommendable gluten free products as well ( personally, we recommend their maple glazed donuts).
