"The hostel was really clean and in a great location" - KeithAllOver, USA

I’ve stayed at a number of hostels in Chicago and this one is by far the best. Slightly outside of the main city, but very close to trains, busses, the zoo, bars and the lake. Public transport in Chicago is amazing so location is more-or-less fine, particularly given that it’s in a super expensive beautiful neighbourhood. The hostel is one of the nicest I’ve stayed at worldwide with very friendly staff and activities most nights of the week. Highly recommend.

The hostel is very centric, you can easily go mostly everywhere from there. There are some bars, pubs and restaurants in the neighborhood you can go walking. The staff is very friendly and helpful. When i did the check in I was charged a bit more than I expected, once I talked to the staff the problem was solved. Free breakfast, free printer, events during the weekend, nice atmosphere!! Excellent hostel, I really recommend it!

I had low expectation as it was a hostel and i have never stayed one previously. But i was pleasantly surprised by the attentiveness of the staff and the level of professionalism mixed with a family-like ambiance was great. I had a full day of business meetings and it was nice to come back to the hostel rather than an empty hotel room. Even though i stayed in a private room, the common areas was big living room rather than just a lobby. and plus the fact that it has a lot of restaurants and convenience centers nearby made my stay pleasurable.

We had standard twin bed room with shared bath. Room was clean, and bigger than we thought, with small closet and small working desk. Shared bathroom was a bit walk, but large and clean. Staff was very nice. Breakfast was pretty good for hostel. Toasts, bagels, fruits, cereals, oat meal. Location is great, in quiet area of Lincoln park. Walking distance to fullerton station, and bus stop is very close, only 5min walk. #22 and #36 bus are both very convenient. A lot of places to eat around too. For the price we paid, I think this was one of the best hostel experiences for us.

I had a great time, this was my first time at a hostel and it was a lot like the army or college dorm setting. The staff were fantastic and the other guests were fun and interesting. I had a hard time spending a ton of money for a place to sleep and this was a perfect alternative. I would definitely recommend this for anyone who likes to travel and have a meet experience doing it. I was there on business so I really couldn’t hang around and visit but next time I will make time.

This was the first time I was traveling by myself and the first time I tried an hostel. Chicago Getaway Hostel made my vacation unforgettable! The place is really clean and comfortable. The stuff is really helpful, they organize something every night, so you can meet other people and have lot of fun!

Price was great! Provides suggestions of events for guests to go on a daily board. Fun way to meet other guests! Has a pool table, piano, guitar, Wii system with games, huge kitchen Location is in a nice Chicago neighborhood with many restaurants/bars within walking distance and close to downtown Chicago

This was my first time at a hostel and I brought my 15 old daughter as we were seeing Billy Joel at Wrigley. After hearing some negative stories about hostelsI I was a little hesitant and worried about safety etc. What a pleasant experience. It was immaculate, easily accessible, and employees one of the friendliest staffs I’ve ever dealt with. They made my daughter feel welcome and safe. If you need a place to just crash but don’t want to pay Chicago hotel fees, this is perfect. Comfy bed, Wi-FI, clean bathrooms no frills, and $120/night….A must see! ☮

we were visiting our daughter around the corner so the location was perfect. In addition, the hostel was clean and everyone who worked there was professional, pleasant and helpful. I would definitely stay there again.
