The Great Chicago Outdoors
Spring has sprung upon us & its time to celebrate our city in the sun. We’ve gathered a few options for you, dear traveller, and we think you will enjoy them…
Our hostel is a quick walk or ride from the beautiful lakefront path that flows alongside Lakeshore Drive in and out of the downtown area. You may rent a single-speed comfort bike right here at the hostel, or you can check out Bobby’s Bike Rental lakefront station for a larger variety of cycling options for the bicycling connoissuer.
Hostel bike rentals are:
*$15.00 for 3 hours.
*$25.00 for the day.
However, your lakeside experience is not limited to cycling alone, check out the many beaches scattered around Lake Michigan’s coast. A walk along the shoreline opens you to a new side of Chicago’s aesthetics. Which brings us to our next suggestion, Walking Tours…
There’s a bunch of FREE walking tours and a ton of other tours ranging from mobsters to the supernatural. This is an awesome outlet to navigating our big city. Also, with the free tours you can narrow your options by selecting specific neighborhoods or choosing personal interests like art, architecture, or food. This is also a great opportunity to discover a more “local” Chicago, and to see the variances between neighborhoods and the originality each one brings in the development of a truly diverse city. Pack your walking shoes & get ready to take in Chicago.
**But that’s not all. Check out the upcoming Bike The Drive event and cycle along the historic Lake Shore Drive (without worrying about the cars).
